On August 10, the State authorities in its order mentioned that polls for electing members to the panchayat samitis and zila parishads might be held by November 25, and to gram panchayats by December 31.
Addressing the gathering, Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring hit out on the AAP authorities, demanding the revocation of the choice.
“We won’t tolerate the assault on the gram panchayats and the AAP’s try and intimidate the panchs and sarpanchs. Rain, warmth or storm, nothing can cease us! We’ll maintain elevating our voice to protect the federal construction of the nation and we are going to maintain protesting until Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann revokes the unconstitutional resolution to dissolve panchayats earlier than their tenure ends,” Mr. Warring mentioned.
